Reflection
Appreciative Inquiry is a good process because it’s about looking for the best in people, their organizations, and the relevant world around them. Instead of identifying the problem and fixing the problem, AI emphasizes what already works. It doesn’t dwell on the problem but it focuses on the life-giving forces. It’s a systematic way of discovering what gives “life” to a particular system when it is most alive and most effective and it amplifies that. It doesn’t only help improve the organization but with the “appreciate”, it makes the members feel involved and helpful; that they are appreciated due to their positive contribution and that they are needed.
